"RE: technical question"

I have wiz8 and have successfully installed the game. I have updated diretx and my video driver. I have good sound and my screen resolution is up to snuff. I can start playing the game and around ten minutes into it, the video just freezes, or goes black. In either case I have to turn the machine off and start over again. So how do I fix that? like I said, I have installed successfully, my ram is 660MB, 800mhz processor, plenty of space on my hard drive, latest directx, most recent update to all drivers, I deactivate all background programs that are non-essential, maximum video acceleration, etc. etc.etc.
I have read as many posts as possible and don't see a solution to my particular problem. Please help.

Nutty.

Try pulling out all your USB stuff. Wiz 8 did a cold reboot whenever I started it because of my wireless USB adapter, so it may dislike other things in the slot back there.

Also, try and fiddle with the 3DSetup and use different settings there. OpenGL, DirectX7, even DirectX6 can be better for some machines.

I would try those suggestions first, if that doesn't work try turning down your acceleration from maximum.

Also, I asm assuming you have the latest patches (version 1.2.4 I believe) for Wiz 8 (if your version did not come with them).

yes, thank you very much for your prompt reply and help. I do have version 1.2.4. I bought the game from a guy in england off of e-bay. Now i am aware that there might be special considerations since it is only supposed to be used in europe and the middle east, but I don't think it should be that dramatic. I will try these things and let ya'll know how it worked out. Again, I would like to say thank you for all of ya'll being so helpfull and kind to poor fools like myself.
