"No Sound At All!!"

Posted by Gilfano (Guest) on Dec-27-04 at 07:32 AM
Hi,

I just purchased a copy yesterday. It installed perfect everything was going great and I loaded it up an No Sound at all. Well you can imagine what came out of the mouth after three hours of trying to get it to work. I am running Windows XP upgrade with the SP2 pack, upgraded from ME (which fricken sucked). I have a Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card and I am running a Dell. All my drivers are up to date for XP. I am just befuddled as to what to do next. I have been playing Wizardry games since the onset...Apple 2+ years for those of you who know what that thing is. Well I have thought about nuking the system just to load ME on again so that I can play this game. I hope that it doesn't come to that. I'm fairly confident that ME would run this game no problems..since it was around the time the Wizardry 8 came out. I would rather not do that though. Any ideas on how to get the sound to function correctly.

"Correct sound selection?"

I am assuming you already went into the menus and made sure it was not muted in game

The first time you start up, I recall there being selections for both sound and video modes ... perhaps you need to use a different sound mode? Not sure how to get back to those "first time" choices ... I think you can run the 3dconfig (or some file named something like that) manually.

Might give that a try ...
