"My editor is not working."

Downloaded latest version of Mad Dog's excellent editor, won't work, came up with Microsoft error message saying windows (XP) had to close application.
Deleted editor and downloaded again, same problem.
Went back to old copy of editor (Oct 15th) saved in Bane directory, copied to Wiz8,seemed to be working fine, made changes to featherweight armor and steelhide breastplate, saved changes.
Went back to game, changes were not applied to either armour.
Anyone any ideas,please?

Further exploration.

1.Older version of editor I'm using is 1.30.Changes made are saved in editor but not applied in game.

2.Downloaded version 1.50 from Snafaru's site, when I tried to use it,I got a message saying "this is not Wizardry 6 or 7",despite having in it Wiz8 folder and having changed path setting to Wiz8.

There is a fresh bug that causes a crash.
As a workaround you may create a folder named ITEMS under DATA folder in the W8 installation directory.
Or you can wait for the next update (this bug will be fixed there).
