"Silencing Characters Equipped With HP Drain Items"

Posted by Phaedarus (Guest) on Sep-30-04 at 09:55 PM
Simply put, I've equipped my Lord with a hitpoint draining cloak and for the last few hours I've been steadily going crazy over the ARGHHH! and UUGHHHHH! every 3 seconds - incredibly annoying to say the least.

Is there any way to silence my Lord at all without affecting other dialogue or sound effects? I'm considering just removing his cloak but it's silly that I would have to resort to such means that I would be deprived of some extra base AC because Sir-Tech didn't have the foresight to see just how aggrivating it is to travel whilst constantly hearing your character howl in pain.

Thanks.

An HP-regenerating device would suffice (eg Amulet of Healing). Lords are wierd that way; even though they regen all by themselves, they still complain.

Walking around with major pain without an occasional AAARRGH or OUCH and if you can do it more power to you.

One HP is not major, esp if you rejen one per round by profession. It's just silly.

OoooK. Think of walking atound and someone following you and jabbing you with a straight pin every so often. Might not be major damage but it sure still hurts.
