"Auto-advance won't work in combat-please help"
Posted by how786 on Sep-24-04 at 04:08 AM
I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. Or, what the cause of this bug is:
I've got the set-up menu set to auto-advance in combat, but, it simply isn't happening. After issuing orders to whomever, I must manually advance to the next party member to give him orders. According to the manual, it should do so automatically when that option is checked.
Pretty annoying.....
Any thoughts as to how I can get auto to work?
Thanks
Ginny

I know it might sound strange, but first, uncheck it, enter battle and see if anything happens, then go back and checkmark the box, and see if that fixes it, for my theory is that Wiz8 simply forgot to update itself when that box was checked, or it simply forgot, if you haven't done anything with it in a while.

Actually, I discovered the issue is more complex.
I reinstalled the game. I CAN get auto-advance to work until the party member in the middle slot on right comes up. After entering his orders, auto-advance stops. I tried it with a couple of different parties and the advance always stops with that party member. So, whether he is 2nd in initiative or fourth....stops after him.
Bizarre........eh?
BTW, patches do NOT affect the issue.
Any ideas?
