Ok so I have WinXP home ed. Jeres the prob. Wizardry runs BADLY I mean its jerky, nonresponsive at times and takes FOREVER (over 5 mins) to go from one screen to another or to load a saved game or to save a game!
Yes i've uninstalled and reinstalled. Any suggestions?

update your video drivers and DirectX.
what is your video card/chipset? find out by right clicking the desktop and properties -> settings tab
right underneath the virtual monitor is listed your graphics chipset.
then do google search for that plus the word "driver" and you should find it real easy.

Well for starters, would be of help if you could provide as much detail about your hardware as you can. Also, copy-n-paste a copy of the 3DVIDEO.CFG file (found where you installed Wiz8).

Visit http://wiz8.web1000.com/ to download a spreadsheet that allows you to enter in your spellcasters current stats, and the spreadsheet will tell you what spells the character can learn, or for spells that they are not yet able to learn, it will tell you how many points you need, or why your character can't learn the spell.

How much memory (RAM), what processor speed (how many gigahertz), what chip (Pentium III, IV, etc.)

I know XP tends to soak up a lot of resources ... maybe it is leavign too little for Wiz to run smooth.

Did this start when you FIRST ran Wiz 8 with Windows XP or did it just suddenly start ?

I had a bad savegame that caused your symptoms. I could not run ANY savegame while that savegame was in the folder. I had to delete it to access ANY Wiz 8 savegame.
