Is there a way to get Wizardry 8 to work for Windows XP? Like a patch or something I can download for that platform?

Umh? Actually it should work fine at Windows XP. Heck, it even runs with Wine under Linux ;) What happens when you install?

I am running Wiz8 under Windows XP Home edition and it installed and runs fine. More info is needed to solve your problem but please be SURE your audio and video drivers are the most current for youe cards as 9 out of 10 times thats where the problem lies.

Works better on my new XP machine than my old Win ME machine. I can even run a TV card simultaneously with the game, and everything else I try.

What are your symptoms ?

Yea ... add my voice to "working fine" on XP Pro.

same here. it looks & runs beautiful, too.

~ what patch are using for Wiz?
~ maybe you need to make sure your OS is fully updated, along with all your peripheral hardware. motherboard, mouse, keyboard, cd/dvd drive, hard drive, grafix card, sound card. double check that they are current for directx, drivers, bios flashes, firmware, etc.
~ you can always run dxdiag to eliminate possible sources of frustration.
~ make sure you don't have anything running in the background: virus scanner, aim/msn/irc/yahoo chat windows, windows updater, screensavers, email, etc. use msconfig to shut down all that stuff.
~ complete scan and full defrag on your harddrive
~ run full antivirus checks and then go after the trojans, bho's etc, by running updated adaware and spybot: search & destroy.

check back after you've done all this routine maintenance and possible problem elimination.

Right click Wiz8.exe, click the "Program Compatibility" tab and set it for Windows 98.

I have a problem with Wizardy 8 as well whin i put the CD in the autorun comes up fine but when i click install nothing happens, i've tried running both the autorun and setup in compatability modes for all versions of windows but nothing happens. Acroding to task manager setup.exe is running but it isn't doing anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

Make sure you do not have any anti virus software running when you install Wizardry 8.
