"Solo question - Dark Savant"

I've noticed in a few posts that when going solo, it is recommneded that you avoid meeting the Dark Savant in the swamp, on the basis that you want Ascension Peak to stay open as long as possible. (It is also recommended to avoid meeting the Don for similar reasons, as he'll steal the Astral Dominae from the DS).

Why is this so??? The only reason I can imagine so is that solo characters early on don't have the Portal spells, and hence would not be able to leave AP once they enter. But, a solo character at an early stage is not likely to be able to or want go to AP in any case?!?!

BTW, my solo fairie bishop (aspiring to be a fairie ninja), who's still at level 4 and has all of 20 HP, is now starting to rock. All schools of magic are 40+, and individual magic realms at 60+. That and She has the Staff of Doom, Locket of Relection; and close combat, critical kill, stealth and staff & wand skills all 98+ (spent one level as a monk when starting to develop these skills.

That I know causes the Rapax to close the pass at Ascension Peak is to aquire any two of the artifacts < AD DD CM >. This causes them to build the Rapax Away Camp and to block the pass.

Hm, there is a reply: this is not really an issue; meet with whom you want, when you want. But the explanation of why is a minor spoiler. You should ask on the spoiler board.
