I'm getting my butt kicked in these underwater caves by Psi Sharks. I can't summon elemetals (why?), can't cast my good damage spells, thrown things fizzle, and magic screen & silence have little effect.

By the time I close distance so fighters can do some real damage, half my party has been whacked hard by mind stabs, ego whips, etc. Party is all lvl 16 or so... any tips?

The size of the elemental you can summon is always dependant on the available space (usually the low ceilings will get you). An exception to this rule is the canned elemntal, which can be popped open anywhere.

Aside from that, you need resistance to mental attacks (and mayeb divine) that these sharks use ... that or run. And as always, look for a place you can better use to your advantage (i.e. only one or two sharks can see your party, but your whoel party can see those two sharks).

rats...skipped adding that one so far. Thought about it last level-up, but went with Sane Mind instead because Nightmare horses kept turning my guys against me.

Guess I'll go bumble around till I can level up again...

It is listed in Braffit's "drops", which I assume means you have a chance of getting it if you kill or pickpocket him ... he probably sells it to.

Soul Shield can be purchased from Crock or Braffit.

I've had success using Quicksand against them.
