Hey all, so i am doing a playthrough from bane up to wiz 8 and i have this party layout that i want. so while i am playing CoDS i realize i may have time to tinker away and still have time to get the class layout i am looking for.

So here is my issue.

I have this Lizardman monk that i started with from bane. I rolled the stats for a monk but started him as a Psionic. She was surprisingly good and i waited to this game to switch her to a monk.
From what i understand it is kinda tricky to run a lizardman as a spellcasting class, but i was wondering what ya'll thought of switching my monk to a bishop and back to a monk for 8.

I've never been one for much class-changing, especially back and forth. I can understand, in a role playing game, how a character may want to progress, from say a Monk to a Bishop ... but then why go back?

If you are going to change again, why not on to something else?

i suppose your right, i get narrow minded on some of my characters. thanks. as an aside, Llevram, you are very helpful as are all of the responders here, and i wanted to say thanks for all your help and patience.

I was really hoping for more conversation on this ... I guess those folks who "change class like underwear" have faded away. Well, if that just leaves us die-hards here, so be it

as to why i would go back..follow me on this. A lizardman can be a ninja fairly easily, in my experience, so i suppose a monk shouldn't be that much of a reach, but i never hear anyone talk about that combo, and it really has been a labor of love for me to take her all the way from bane. i guess i just wanted to go ahead and max out her abilities and since it takes forever to up her int. i figured i would go with a bishop since they have high int anyway. it took a couple of reloads to get the right stats for each level up but i was able to do it and now i have the kirijutsu maxed out as well as the theosophy and i am on the way. so what would you suggest for another esoteric combo? i really enjoy the challenge of playing what might be considered mismatched race/class combos but my imagination aint all it should be, maybe i drink too much.
