"Anyone playing on a Mac?"

Posted by alecbgreen on Apr-14-12 at 07:38 PM
I spent a year playing this game night and day and never beat it. That was 15+ years ago. Now I want a 2nd chance! I found it on Abandonia and got it running on my Mac with 10.4 OSX.

Id like to do a character editor to make some odd race/class combos without having to keep rolling....rerolling...REROLLING for stats. Anyone have any luck getting Wizedit or DScheat to work? Like I say I got the game running but cant get the editor to work. Error pops up when I load the savegame file and says " " is not a name; all character slots are empty.

If I got no luck getting the character editor going, any tips on how to build a good party the old fashioned way? Thanks! Im really excited to be playing this again!

I don't recall if it was Mac back then, but folks had sent me their saved games via email (from an Apple version), I edited them, sent them back and they worked ...

We could try that if you want.

Thanks for the offer! I installed on another computer with XP and its running.

Another question:

I used a char. editor to make my starting party so I didnt have to spend hours waiting for good rolls. I created 2 fighters and turned 1 into Rawulf Monk and another 1 into a Felpur Ninja. I increased all stats to 18, started the game, switched profession, and left the stats at the new base levels for those two classes. I will proceed as normal from here. The weird thing is, they cant punch or kick, only "fight." They have no weapons equipped, hands & feet skill is up. Any ideas why they cant choose b/w punch & kick?
