I would be very interested in seeing your work. I have always wanted to see how the Japanese translated Bane of the Cosmic Forge. If you can, please let us all know the website in these forums, and good luck!

Heh. So it was done in English originally, translated to Japanese, and now we're translating it back again? Isn't there an easier way?

That about sums it up!

I did a precursory examination of the Japanese version and saw two interesting things: First, there's a preset party of Elves, Faeries and Gnomes dubbed the "Cuties." Second, when the party goes through the gates, the characters say "Humu" as a transliteration of "Hmmm" rather than using a Japanese word.

It's a really interesting thing to see what the Japanese are up to with an American release, rather than all of the exposure I've had with the opposite.

This is true, though a lot of people don't realize that we started a lot of the stuff they have in Japan now. They make ooriginal content, but the basic ideas came from the US, post-WW2.

Still, not often you see something like this, with it getting translated back and forth. You get to see how interpretations are made when there are cultural differences.
