We are remodeling, so I have been doing a lot of digging under the house ... thus, "dirty" pix

Wow.

And here I thought you spent all your free time playing poker.

I live in an apartment on the fourth floor (in a city and seeing pines and birches outside)... and I am quite content with it. But wait a moment... there is a childhood home that might need some fixing... argh!

I don't know how much dirt/concrete I have moved out of there to date, but yetsterday my back said: "too much". I had planned to be done excavating this weekend (I keep thinking there are only about 2 truckloads of dirt left ) ... but I am out of commision for a while ...

Once the slab got poured and I started framing, it was only 2 days and had most of the rooms framed ... then, slow going as the remainign framing is more involved ... notching out for existing pipes, figuring out how to make a window bench ... figuring out where the stiars will land (and where I need to start cutting up the floor above) ... figuring out how I will run the existing wires ... plenty to keep me busy

"More pix - not so dirty ;-)"

well, it had been more than a month since i last updated the pix of the remodel ... got a lot of progress made this past Memorial day weekend (which I am affectionately am calling "labor" day weekend). I took an extra day, for the 4-day weekend .... and spent most of it doing sheetrock (or drywall as the pros call it ... I am no pro )

That is looking really good. Are you going to tape/mud/sand/texture/paint yourself as well?

I suggest renting an air gun for the texture and paint.

Looking good Lev.

no/no/no/no/yes I cant see trying the tape/texture without the tools or experience. My wife's nephew has the tools and experience ... and reasonable, so he gets to have all that fun.

Painting, I can handle ... can't wait for that actually.

Updates have been far and few between, as major progress has slowed But, we've now got paint on the walls, lights installed, some of the cabinets up ... the end is in sight.

Anyone who has done an owner/builder project knows it is never truly 100% done

Once it hits about 90-95% ... that's about where the steam and/or money ...
