"What is Wizardry 4 about?"

Could someone give me details on the storyline and the game in general? It's the only one I basically don't know anything about, I don't even know if it exists for the Mac, internet research has yielded nothing of value. All I'd really appreciate is a through-and-through of what the game is all about, if someone can provide.

Please and thank you. =)

... besides what you can neasily find out. You play as Werdna (the evil wizard from Wiz 1) and you are fighting parties of adventurers. I believe some of the parties you face are actual parties, that real players made up, that Sirtech copied off disks sent in for repair.

Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

As Llevram stated...you play Werdna. You have little to no magick when you start off and must level up to gain it. You start with two bodyguards/priests.

It has been some time since I played it, but it was fun to play the BAD GUY for a change.

I once beat the game using a walkthrough. Graphically, it is equal to Wiz 1-3.

You play Werdna, the evil mage that was defeated in Wiz 1. He is trapped on the lowest level of a huge maze, that was set up in order to keep him at bay. He is determined to find his way out and avenge his defeat.

The game is fun to play, because there are some twists in gameplay. First of all, Werdna is hardly able to fight: He starts with one HP as a level 1 sorcerer. In order to compensate for that, he is able to summon monsters at specific spawn points. Those monsters do the dirty work for you. Werdna levels up when he enters a new maze-floor and finds the summoning spot.

Enemies regularly contain of parties of "do-gooders", so that you fight thieves, fighters, priests and so on. Pretty funny! There are no random encounters! Once a group of enemies is defeated, it stays dead. Unfortunately, each time the game is saved / loaded, ALL of them respawn, so that Werdna must be careful that he does not get trapped between groups of do-gooders.

Each game-level has a specific theme: There are mazes with moving walls, others with landmines (stray off the path: kaboom) etc.

By the way. Don't think that you will be able to beat the game without a walkthrough. The riddles are tough!

Does that quench your thirst for knowledge ?
