LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-06 AT 07:03 AM (Pacific)

Hello. I've just ascended for the first time (thanks to Llevram), and, looking back, I think Wiz 8 is a great game, but with a major flaw.
I don't know what you think about it, but for me, there is a real lack of secondary quests. Besides, it's frustrating to walk down the roads (espicially in Arnika Road, Southern Wilderness, Ascension Peak)knowing that almost nothing is on the background.
The big, big advantage of Wiz 8 is its game systems, the characters evolution, the system of magic, and so on, so what would you think of using the editor to add secondary quests and NPCs along the roads?
We could, too, add new levels of monsters to add challenge and make the characters' evolution longer.
Everyone could gather on this topic to give ideas, and somebody skilled at this could use the editor. Somebody should be the director to choose what ideas are to keep and what are to drop.
I know there are already mods on this purpose, but this one would be the achievment of a collective work, the sum of eveybody's ideas. It would be a great tribute to Sir-Tech !
What do you think of it? (And does somebody knows if it's impossible?)
Again, I hope my english is understandable.

And I admire your enthusiasm ... I have yt to try a mod, though. Too many other things going on and just haven't really tired of the game yet. Still pic it up and start new party combinations.

I'm curious though, how was it I helped you?

Was when I had this keybord problem, and when you spoke with the guard for me.

I hae been working on and off on a mod. It really isn't all that hard but there are a limited number of things you can do.

You can add new equipment, make more and harder monsters, but more quests I think are not possible.

If you can change the text of NPCs and add monsters that drop new items, that could amount to a "side quest". Anna tells you to kill a (new monster) and retrieve it's (body part) ...

Not much, but it would keep you busy, which is all side quests really do.

If I remember right, the problem is that the speech will not work, it is not modifiable( you do get text, no voice ). If any have tried DeathStalkers mod, you know what I mean. Other than that, yes side quests are possible.

Other than just "keep you busy" Quests can be a way of earning extra xp, special items, or even just give you a deeper insight into characters and their stories.

As an example Ive been playing Hero Online lately, which is a free mmorpg. Some of the quests in the game are actually a whole series of tasks that follow a story line and you often learn the whole story/background of some of the npcs as you progress through the various steps. What is also nice is you get some kind of xp or gold compensation at the completion of each step and when you complete the final task you usually then get a big reward.

These kinds of Quests are, for me, what really makes a game as it adds extra depth.

Always remember the Tleilaxu Epigram:
Here lies a toppled god
his fall was but a small one
we did but build his pedestal
a narrow and a tall one.
