"IDOL...finally spoiler please"

I know that there is alot of threads explain where it is but
it is not that clear. Please help.

1) came to upper bluff, only elevator down to Zant that's all.
2) found the catapult and dead trang and wire
3) answered MArten in picture and found his dairy
4) search everywhere.

questions:
1) where is the lever that you all mentioned about.
it is in the mine?? or it is in upper or lower bluff.
(i have not been to the mine yet)

2) mentioned about stairs..where is that...exact location.
someone mentioned it is near the elevator...i found no stair at all.

Thanks for your help...i am stuck in bluff for very very long.

~~regarding the idol~~
you found the dead t'rang, so you got over to the right side of the fort.
that side of the fort is where you need to look for the idol.
~the dead t'rang was at the northern end of that part of the fort.
~you must head south (staying inside the fort)
~you will kill some stuff and come to another smaller, room
~if you walk close to the walls inside that room, you will see some very very very very narrow stairs that wind upstairs.
~there are 2 sets of stairs
~take them up
~at the top of one of them you will see what you are looking for. it is very trynnie-looking. pick it up, and don't freak out. what happens next WILL freak you out, so don't freak out! ok? just go with it.

hopefully that will get you going.

if you want an addy to a little walkthru, just ask and i will post it.

I must be blind... I can't find it and I've walked all the walls aroudn I think. I got the t'rang arm..now from there I stay on the same groudn level to get the idol right? I've walked all the walls aroudn and found a lute of magik or something for the bard, but no other set of stairs. Could someoen please describe in detail where you go from the trang arm please? screenshots would even be *really* helpful..I saw the one on the walkthrough, but when I go to the se tower from the trang arm location I still can't find it..maybe I go underground?

Thanks!

Bovine

i went into my old saves and pulled up the one from just before i grabbed the Idol.

answer to your question:
NO, you don't go underground. 7/8 of all of this occurs at ground level. except for the very very last part.

first off, look at your auto map, kay?

at the southern end of the fort you see 2 deep blue squares, right? NOT THE BLUE RECTANGLE ON THE EASTERN SIDE!

the blue square that is in the south eastern corner is the one you want to get to.

~~>Idol Grabbing for Fun and Profit<~~

*stand next to the stinky, dead t'rang body and face south.

*there is a pool to your left.

*be careful there is a small trap that shoots one arrow as you leave and head south.

*the rooftop passage that leads to where you came up using the catapult is directly to your right. yes, you pass it again as you go south, looking for your idol.

*step into a small courtyard with grass and to your immediate left is another archway heading east.

*go thru the archway. the ground level drops a couple of feet.

*okay, you see 2 bldgs now.

*to your left is the bldg with the lift that goes down into the trang place, right?
~~~>it's all glass and there's a funky dummy with a target on its chest dangling in the middle.
*ignore it.
*to your right is The Building, which on your auto-map has the 2 blue squares.
*walk the few steps and on your right (or south) is the entry way into the bldg.
*directly outside the door, to the left and right are little alcoves, with red lights in them.
~~~>look for goodies. sorry, i can't remember if anything is even there but you will want to grab whatever you can, because, well.... it's just plain fun to do

*enter the door.

*turn to the right. go all the way to the west wall, and turn around so you are facing north.

*see the kinda hidden passage? take it upstairs and look for stuff.

*go back down to where you were. pass by the entrance (so the door is to your left) and go to the eastern far wall.

*turn left and (just like on the other side~surprise!) there is a small, kinda hidden doorway.

*this is THE doorway you want. what you are searching for is in the room at the top!

lemme know if you still can't find it, kay?

The door you are talking about is closed.
What is the way to open it?

I'm stuck here too, that door is closed and has no symbol for opening it.

To get to the area with the lever that opens that door:

Go through the swamps to the mines. After some puzzling and alot of fighting you'll find the way from the mines to lower Martin's Bluff.
You enter a new part of this area, one you couldn't enter from upper Martin's Bluff (That is not without getting the T'rang hostile. It's in one of their private area's where you get the warnings to keep out). Explore this part (turn back if you are warned, you don't have to go through those guards) and you'll find an exit to upper martin's bluff. In this area is the lever that opens the gate to the idol (you're in the eastern building of upper Martin's Bluff now). You can exit this part of upper Martin's Bluff through a trap in the floor. This will get you quickly to the catapult and into the other part of Bluff to get to the gate that is open now. Alternatively you could take the other stairs to lower MB teleport area and from there up again to upper MB.

OK i went thru it already.

The lever to open the middle big door is in the MINE.
For those that went to marten bluff first without checking
out the MINE, you will not be able to enter that door.

Okay, so I'm back at the Mine and looking at the panel with the four big red buttons on it. On my first visit I pushed three of them and they turned and stayed purple. The fourth one turns purple when I press it but turns back to red after a second or two and I can't get it to stay. Since that was the same configuration it was in when I went up to the Bluff, I'm assuming that I need to find a way to get the fourth one to stay purple too but I've been through everything in my inventory and nothing works and Tantris has been less than helpful. What's my next move?
