I posted this here in case this is story related, but when I went to Trynton for the first time, I got Rapax Scouts instead of the usual plants and such. Is there a story reason for that (something I might have done that I didn't do the first time around and didn't realize it)? Or is it just a random monster encounter.
Its the first time I've seen Rapax anything in the game, much less in Trynton.

It may be you leveled up more than most before getting here. Or it could just be random.

Thanks. Seems like I just got 'lucky' by getting them (though they tend to drop a lot of nice stuff when they died)

Its NOT a random encounter, its a story builder encounter, if you not already know, the Rattkins and Rapax are in war, from the start of the game mind you!
