"Wondering about gameplay in regards to Martens Bluff"

Posted by Greg King (Guest) on Dec-18-01 at 08:31 AM
I am currently trying to figure out how to get into Marten's Bluff to get the idol. My questions isn't how but how would I KNOW to go to the mines or to fight the T'Rang to get into the tunnel? I have read dozens of post but no where does it tell me how I (as a character) would have a clue on how to get to the mines. I see that that is the only way in but. Is this just something that I would need to wander around the swamps looking for another location to go into? If so that seems kinda unbalanced in the game play. Any advice would be appreciated! I am not looking for spoilers but just overall game play knowledge

As is problem/puzzle solving. "If you have been all around and can't find the door, there must be another entrance" is usually a fairly safe assumption.

But to answer you question, no I don't think there is anything that points us to the mine tunnels or to that being necessary to gain entrance to (Lower) Martens Bluff.

Fair enough answer. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Also one of the Later Umpani quests sends you into that part of the complex. They even give you an electronic lockpick to open the door.

I still have not been to the caves. I was able to get into the Bluff by using the Catapult (click on it once to ready it, click again to fire it). After the catapult is fired, you can climb on it to get over the wall.

I don't remember the combination of buttons that I used on the other side of the crusher door but one configuration turned the blue mat thing in the middle of the room into an elevator that took me into the lower area.
