I've read somewhere that if you import a savegame from previous Wizardries, with the Diamond Ring, and if you manage to keep it until Wizardry 8, there's a big reward in a specific place. Can somebody spoil me on this?

if i am not wrong... u can do the quest only if u didn't kill the bank teller(by accepting rattus rattus' quest).. the story is that someone robbed the bank of the huge diamond. I didn't do the quest as i killed her but i couldn't finish the rattus
quest either... that jerk is no where to be seen.

btw, those who wish to do the quest.. u can find the diamond by killing rogue leader in the north east wilderness... just b4 going to umpani base camp. (the same place u can activate the runes easter egg)

There was a special item in Wiz 6 - a diamond ring, not just a diamond nugget. If you give that one (imported from 6 to 7, 7 to 8) to Bela, you get some special text.

back in old wiz (6 and 7) the ring had AC -5 (which was extremely good) and offered HP regeneration
now, it still offers AC and, even greater, still HP regeneration.

But best of all is, it just looks marvellous on a girl's hand.
And the girls like that sort of rings.. try it out.

The diamond ring, in Bane, was AC -5 (best in the game) and regen +3 (best in the game). And, you could get one of them for each party member!
