Why can Vi kick as an attack against her guards in the ship in Arnika and against the Savant in the Cosmic Circle, but not otherwise?

Actually she can to prove this just lead som brugands or guards into He'Li's when Vi is NOT a recruited member of your party but has been rescued from the ship and watch her kick butt.
