"Just finished"

Finished the game for the 1st time over the weekend. at the end my party were all level 21-23 and consisted of RFS-81, Vi, Liz Ftr, Dracon Sam, Elf Bishop, Mook Bard, Gnome Alc and Hobbit Ranger.

My general feeling was that after bayjin, there weren't any really hard fights until the Rapax prince at AP. Nebdar, Peewee, Al-sedexus etc were pretty easy to take down despite their high levels. Also, none of the monsters around AP were that hard, apart from the occasional insanity-casting ones who got initiative before my soul shield was up.

I'm going throught the game again and thinking about doint it on hard difficulty setting - does it make a big difference?

... then I would guess, the expert setting is in need. So, you had no trouble with the Soul eater? The Cloud Djiins and Greater Demon combo?

I usually finish the game having snuck (and or ran) by those two battles.

No, no probs. If I saw a monster in the distance, I'd hide around a corner, go into combat, cast my buffs and step into view. Easy as pie. Had level 7 chameleon on permanently, which seemd to help me see the enemies before they saw me.
