"PROBLEMS! (WHINE)"

Posted by WillBowden (Guest) on Aug-09-03 at 11:52 AM
I am in Mount Gigas. I was about to be attacked by a swarm of Chameleon Rats and Spiders so I backed into a corner next to some boxes to get limit the access to my archers and people in the back....and now I'm stuck in the corner and can't get back out.

I've tried running back and forth in a rocking motion and have tried moving forward as far as I can and just continue inching forward and cannot move out of this corner.

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't yet have the teleport spell so I can't just zip out.

You might just try to keep "pushing" ... even if it looks like you are not moving. Sometimes, it seems to work. Also, maybe try rearranging your characters. And keep with the rocking motion, while running ... in all directions.

I've tried everything and it doesn't work. There's monsters outside of my attack range that I can see but cannot attack. I've seen some Umpani come into range and hit the Fight button just to try to move in a different way while I was there but no go.

Guess it's time to restart the game...again. :O)

Thanks Llevram! This time, though, I'll play with a different character. Haven't tried a Samurai yet.

Were you playing Iron Man? Just reload to your previous save ...

"Previous save?"

No, I wasn't playing Iron Man. I do, however, very seldom save games under different names. The previous save that I have is almost from the beginning of the game. I hopefully will have learned a lesson from this. <Though I wouldn't really bet on it.>

On the other hand I wanted to thank you for running this forum. It's been a great help to me in the games that I've played (and I even finally registered!)

Use it often. I use it all the time, when not in IM mode.

I tend to save overly much ... though hardly ever need them You should at least save under a new name before or after every level up. Also, you know about "quick saves" right? Just hit Q while playing and it will quick save in one of 3 rotating slots (Quick 1, 2 and 3).

Careful not to quick save while running though (with the shift key down), that is quick reload ... that has got me more than a few times

""Return to Portal"?"

(If not - keep trying, I got out of the weirdest places already with some patience..)

I wasn't a high enough level to have the return. I did have the set, though. That's OK. I'm actually enjoying this new party MUCH better.

Unless you learn them from a spellbook set and return are ALWAYS linked. if you can learn one you can and will learn the other. Its thr only sprll that gives you 2 for the price of 1

The ones that look like transformers ... I got stuck to one once. I was about to reload when I was attacked by bats. The start of combat shook me loose. Are you stuck behind something or stuck TO something?

Don't walk behind the Rapax Kings throne (in the castle) without a recent backup.

I'm actually stuck between some boxes and a pillar (from floor to ceiling holding the ceiling up).

I've played the game before and never got stuck like this. Just kind of odd.

"One other thing to try"

I have noticed that my party "jumps" sometimes, when I quick save (hitting Q). It only happens when they are on a slope or unlevel ground ... might try running, (this is important) letting go of the shift key, then hitting Q.
