I'm played Wiz6 and now I'm playing Wizardry 7. After that i want to start Wiz8 again.Probably, my party will look like that:
1. Fighter, Lizardman, Swords (dual or with dagger or 2handed)
2. Samurai, Felpurr, Dual Swords
3. Ninja, Dracon, Dual Throwing Weapons
4. Priest, Rawulf, Staff
5. Mage, Elf, Staff
6. Monk, Alchemist, Bard or Gadgeteer
Do you have any tips for my Party? What would you change? And which Class would you suggest for my 6th rank? I think I'll take the Bard.
Rank 1+2 will be in Close Combat
Rank 3+4+5+6 in ranged Combat
For the NPC i will choose the robotic Monk (don't know the nane) and Vi. They will fight in Close Combat too.
I'm not whether my Ninja is good or whether my Fighter is good with dual Swords, because in the last game he had to concentrate on too much skills. (because you find no secondary sword for a fighter). Would you take a Lord?
Post your answers, please
Trainging the samurai in dual swords, might be a waste of points, since (IIRC) their is only one sword, later in the game, that only the samurai can use as a secondary weapon. Seems like a narrow path.I would go with either a Bard or Gadgeteer for the 6th spot.
I would change one or both of your pure spell casters to a bishop. I had never played bishops much (in Wiz 7 and not at all in Wiz 8), but with all the posts about how usefull they were in Wiz 8, I tried it out ... they are very useful. With your current party and planned recruits, you would have Priest, Mage and Valkyrie ... covering only two spell books (the robotic Monk can not cast spells). So, you will not have access to the Alchemist or Psionic spells (OK, the ninja has access to the alchemist spells, but not early on and that doesn't seem the focus of that character ... the game will probably be over by the time he masters the better spells). With two bishops, you could fairly easily concentrate each in two spell books (there was a whole thread on that a few months ago), or concentrate each in one spell book and dabble in another
Concentrating your ninja in just throwing will be difficult early on, as there is limited ammo for him in the early game.
