I wanted to have the Ebon Staff made, but I can't find a Staff of the Wood Sprite anywhere. Does anyone know where this item can be found?

I think you are guaranteed to get one in the encounter vs. 3 wood folk, in the Trynton Pagoda area (where you need to blue marble to enter the "no magic zone").

It is also a random drop from many of the wood creatures (Oak Saplings, Ironwood Elders, etc. that you encounter in Trynton and on Asscension Peak).

It is not a guaranteed drop, but very likely. Also the 6 Saplings in Trynton often drop one. I think that is why Ferro says he will be surprised if you get the ingrediants, one is not always sure to get one.

The saplings usually wander out of the zuzu-petal-temple and attack me near Bobo. I usually save before that point and refight the battle until I get a staff. AP is way too late in the game to go for the staff.

Make sure you have someone who can USE the Ebon Staff before you struggle to get one.

If all else fails kill the Shaman . He'll usually drop one.

Thanks for the help but, I have already killed the critters around the zoo with no luck and have pretty much finished trynton. I may try the shaman if I can find him again. Assinsion Peak will have to wait till I've done the Rapax. Who can use the staff? It is made by the Rapax in Arnika, not Ferro.

.. can equip the staff (IIRC). I believe it can be equipped by fairies as well, though not sure if that was changed or not (during or after beta). You can always go camp out in Trynton, and hope some more wood-folk show up ...
