I searched the forum and did not find this answer. I opened the Sanctum doors, ran straight through, and triggered the lava trap room. I ran to the doors and there is a narrow area you can stand without frying. I teleported to one of my portals. I am playing Iron Man game (second time through. . .yah I know, I should have remembered this) and can't just reload. It there any way to "unspring" the trap? Using the hinged door like you deactivate the trap when you do this right goes click but does not open the gates.

Is there any way to get the beckoning stone without this?

Must I NOT do the templar initiation because I can't get to al-Sedexus to kill her when I need to?

Any ideas/comments?

You don't have to do the initiation ... if you set a portal inside Ascension peak, beyond the blockade (if it is not up yet). Otherwise, you may be stuck .. if the blockade is up, you have no AP portal and you can't unspring the trap ...

or you could just do the initiation and deal with one of your characters to be permanently hexed. I am sure one of your characters is "expendable"

That, or there is just a whole lot of people from Kitchener, Ontario that trying to make it look like you are a bad person. Or I am right (I vote for that one).

Llevram, your first explanation might be closer than you think. I thought of a logical explanation, brothers or a gtoup of friends that use a single computer to play Wizardry. Either of these two would explain (1) the same IP address, (2) the different screen mames, (3) the utter lack of shared information between them or on the other hand it could be one person with multiple personaliries, this would at least give some credance as to why none of them know what the other is doing.

I don't think AP is a problem but I admit I haven't thought it through much. I have not been to AP and the blockade is up.

It isn't a problem to get to the Rapax Castle. I went there earlier to give Ferro the items for his special projects. My questions really boil down to is there any way to get the grate back up? If not then must I avoid the initiation or deal with a permanently hexed char? I would choose avoid rather than hexed. Is there a way to get to Al-Sedexus without the Beckoning stone?

If you can't get the grate back up (i.e. can't get the beckoning stone), then you will have to deal with a hexed character ... there is no other way for you to get to AP and finish the game, than the rapax castle path into AP, right?

One option would be to use an RPC as the initiate, if you can.

IIRC you can't use an RPC to become a Templer. That is why you have to dismiss all male RPCs from your all female party to finish becoming a Templer.

... but not since the lastest patch ... maybe something was changed there. I had used RFS, and since most RPCs are males, the gender should not be an issue ... if it still works.

The trouble with RPCs (I thought) was level .. they are usually lower in levels than the rest of the party, so "unaccceptable" to Al-sedexus, since she wants one of your "strongest".

Maybe that is it. I remember reading somewhere that you couldn't use an RPC because then you could just recruit one, use him, and then discard him. Hmmm, sounds like a good story line for a movie.

Hate ro disagree but had both Saxx and RFS-81 to level 24 when my solo charactor a frmale FN was only level 21. She wou;dn't take either of them. I could understand Saxx because his stats were lowered by being in an area that he didn't want to, but RFS-81...

... on what level your solo character was ... probably a level or two higher than Saxx and RFS-81. But it could very well be a patch thing ... I have yet to get and RPC to be the initiate since the latest patch.

Let me ask it this way. Is it necessary to do the initiation to use the AP portal in the castle? It was about 5 months ago when I did this part of the game and I have only played through this part once.
