I think you've asked about this weapon before. But other than your questions, I've never heard of such a weapon in Wiz 8 -- not in:
(a) The official strategy book
(b) Any of the net walkthroughs or item lists
(c) Several months of reading posts here and on two other boards
(d) Several times playing through the game myself.
As someone else pointed out, there is a sword called Saint Bastard, but it is not a rapier, and makes no mention of anyone named Gilbert. A quick Google search easily turns up the reference to Gilbert the Bastard from the book Le Morte d'Arthur by Mallory, which is probably the literary reference. (Although calling anything used by an Arthurian era knight a "rapier" would probably be incorrect...)
So I'm going to turn the question around and ask you -- what sources have you heard about this weapon from and what have they said about it? My guesses (in order of probability) are:
(1) The item actually comes from a different game -- maybe Dark Ages of Camelot or something else with an Arthurian feel.
(2) Someone is misleading you
(3) The game was "localized" to a non-US country with different item names -- I find this somewhat unlikely because nobody seems to have ever mentioned that being the case before.
LAST EDITED ON Apr-22-03 AT 07:07 PM (Pacific)Since the forum software doesn't seem to be banning you by your IP address, I will just have to turn off unregistered posts, to keep you away.
(edited) ... as it turns out, that would be a lot of work (not to mention keep out folks that we do want), so I tried banning a wider range of IP address to keep you (and all your other identities, including Gabriel .. the person who told you there was such a sword in the first place) out.
