"Light sword?"
Posted by tbird1000 on Mar-09-03 at 01:02 AM
I'm just curious to know if I'm actually at the right chest. I read all those posts about the light sword before, and I'm pretty sure I've got the right chest, but I've tried some 6-8 times and never gotten a light sword yet. I'm in bayjin (saved outside in the shallows), I run up, kill the empath in the shrine thing, then wait for the sentries to move, run to the hut with the sentry guarding the chest, kill him, and disarm the chest. Is this the right one? How many times do I have to try before I'll get it? Thanks in advance for the help.

... you should also know, you may never get it (shortof reloading 100+ times). You can tell if it is the right chest, by what it is giving up. Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

Llevram, any chance you can set up some functionality where if a post contains the words light and sword consecutively that the post is rejected and they are given a search result instead? It is frustrating for me as a user of your great forum to see an almost daily post bu someone trying to obtain the light sword, so I can imagine how it is for you.

... you get used to the fact that many folks are just going to ask, not look for the answer themselves. I hardly notice anymore. As for the suggestion, thanks. But I know this board software doesn't have anything like that, but someone with enough Perl script knowledge could write a "hack" to do that.I have been toying with the idea of compiling a FAQ (as the final project), for an HTML class I am taking. Maybe a comprehensive and easy to use interface could reduce some of the repetitve questions.

There are always gping to be those who are new or lost or just plain don't have any idea how to use this boards advanced functions. A HTML FAQ would be nice but sometimes seetnf a question asked by someone for the first time <even if it has been asked a million times before
> helps to revive the sense of wonder that for me makes this gme and this board worthwhile. Sorry about the soapbox.

I got it on my fourth try and I also got the light shield at the same time. Woohooo! It's pretty random as the first time I got a Vaporizer and a few potions so you CAN get real lousy stuff....
