"cursed weapons"

Is there a way to uncurse a weapon itself, instead of just making it possible to deequip it? I love that thieves dagger, but if my thief can't switch to bow and arrow when there's no monsters in range for him, it makes him pretty useless in combat. Just wondering.

No. Some people are willing to "waste" a turn casting Remove Curse during battle. Others will cast it before entering combat so that he/she will switch to their long range weapon for the first round. Then when the enemies close to melee range he/she will automatically switch to the cursed weapon for the rest of the battle.

Then there are others who equip the ranged weapons in the Primary slot then manually switch to the cursed weapon when they feel like it during combat. After combat, the curse is removed and the ranged weapon is again switched manually to the Primary weapon slots.

hm, I didn't think of doing things like that. Thank you.

I've done the "cast remove curse before entering combat" trick. What's great about it is that you cast "remove curse" out of combat but don't un-equip the weapon. This gives the character the ability to auto-switch from the cursed weapon if all of the enemies are out of melee range the next time combat is initiated.

Just remember to cast remove curse immediately after combat ends.

I forgot a few times and had to wait until the baddies got into melee range. Once you get into the habit it's almost automatic that you cast it after every battle.

Your comment reminded me, that I really wished there was a "script" ability or function in this game. I don't know how many times I have:
.... then continue play.

It would be nice to be able to setup all those commands, in to one key press. I suppose I could have tried some keystroke/mouse capture software, to see if it would work .... hmmm.

Let us know if you figure out how to do it. It would be a real time saver. Not to mention a real savings on my mouse finger.
