"Would casting Soul Shield help?"

Posted by Paul (Guest) on Feb-17-03 at 03:27 PM
If your resistance to the mental and divine realms is already maxed out at 100 because of your race, items, iron will, and/or magic screen, would casting Soul Shield increase the resistance further even though 100 is the maximum according to the statistics screen?

Since you can see many skills go to at least 125 (i.e. you have 100 in the skill, plus the 25% class bonus). Every little bit helps ...

While the Stat and skill status sheet do show up to 125 (not only class bonus but also item bonus), the magic resistant sheet show a maximum of 100.

I don't know if there is effect for any extra though.

As it seems it is difficault to make EVERY members has both mental and divine resistant maxed without the soul shield, it is in most case helpful.

It's true that the character stat screen shows a max of 100 for resistances, but monster descriptions often have resistances between 100 and 125, so at least there doesn't seem to be a game restriction against it.

I suppose if you really wanted to test this, you could fight an enemy with one attack form (like scorchers) several times with and without elemental shields driving your resists up, and see whether you seem to take less damage...
