"hard enemies"

Does anyone know of a good site that will give the best ways of defeating enemies you run into through out the game? For example, I just had a hell of a time beating the psi sharks in Mt. Gigas Water Caves. After many tries I did it with a canned elemental and silence spells and lost 3 of party, which of course I brought back to life. I noticed spells didn't work a lot on these sharks, and their attack was very powerful. Thanks for any reply in advance.

No -- most of the sites really don't focus on that. There are probably great tips on the boards here for specific "boss-monster" type encounters, though.

Have you been keeping your Mythology skill up on at least one character? If so, then have you been getting info on the monsters you encounter (should be a right click or a shift-right click depending on how you've configured.) That really tells you what you need to know -- at high myth levels you find out what level the monster is, hit points, stamina, what their attacks can do, what range their attacks reach, and resistance levels to each spell realm. Hit them where they are weakest and you are strongest, which is an incentive to building a balanced party that doesn't, say, focus on Fire magic exclusively.

Psi sharks, IIRC, have very high resistance to everything, cast soul shield on themselves to boost divine and mind resist, and of course, their one weaker area is fire, which you can't use underwater. They may be too tough for your party at this level. What I usually do is buff up fast (Soul Shield is vital, at the highest level you can cast it) and then run into melee with them. (My party is more melee focused.)If you have spell points to burn, earth and air spells usually have at least some effect. Toxic Cloud may actually knock a couple unconscious. Earthquake, especially if your caster has the Power Cast ability, may do reasonable damage to them.

Playing with an overly built up party (levels around 21-23)at expert setting I had a fight this morning with 18 Psi Sharks -- took me about an hour to complete and I wound up having to resurrect my Lord after a backfired Asphyxiate spell!
