"Lashing weapons and critical strike"

Do lashing weapons like the Vampire Chain benefit from the Critical Strike skill? It doesn't seem like you'd be able to hit critically with a lashing weapon.

there is no reason it shouldn't. in Wiz 8, unlike 7, the attack mode means little. just a message. like "Thor thrusts broadsword" is the only real reason.

I'm not positive (I could easily check though to make sure) but I think weapons that lash only get a limited Strength bonus. Usually melee weapons get a 2% per Strength point above 50 bonus. But with lashing melee weapons, the bonus is only 1%. So that's at least one difference between the attack modes.

OK I just checked it and I was right lashing only gives a 1% per point above 50 Strength bonus. Also when your opponent is paralyzed lashing doesn't do double damage. I'm not sure whether or not it does double damage when your opponent is blinded though.
