"Two-handed swords ?"

Posted by Gorky (Guest) on Dec-09-01 at 02:25 PM
Hello,

Playing the demo, I discovered samauri can wield shields. A bit odd, but well... So I would like to know if I should increase my future samourai's shield skill or concentrate on sword, close combat and reflexion to use a two handed sword, if there is any.(I mean when I EVENTUALLY receive my game).

Thanks, Gorky

I didnt encounter so many 2 handed weapons, a samurai could use. is the fang a 2 handed sword? think not. i personally like to equip my samurai with a primary and secondary weapon, since he is very fast and so strikes often and he has a chance to instant kill opponents. so my samurai has a saint bastard and a enchanted wakizashi. i used to give him wakizashi+1 and lioght sword in wiz7.
only 2 handed swords i encountered are excalibur, zweihänder, flamberge (perhaps usable by samurai) and claymore.

The No Dachi is a two handed sword. 4D4 + 4 if the damage table is unchanged from earlier wizardries. Definitely a samurai only weapon. The Sword of Four Winds is also a two handed sword. Ideally, I'd like my samurai to have a Bushido Blade (well, OK, a Muramasa Blade, but that's probably not going to happen... anyone notice the relative dearth of uber weapons in Wiz8?)
