Hi, where can I find Marten's words and idol?

found the "words" easily, but cannot for the life of me find Marten's Idol. I know it is in Marten's Bluff somewhere, but have no idea where. There are still parts of the Bluff I can't get to. I walked the catapult, killed the rapax, but can't go anywhere but the two courtyards and a couple of towers. I tried to go north through the swamp to some caves, but can't find them and can't get past the Rynjin. SO HOW DO I GET TO THE IDOL?

One is to align with the Umpani and do their quests ...one of them eventually gets you a pulse pick you can use to open the door, to get to the other side of lower martens bluff.

The other way, maybe a bit easier, depending on where you are and what you are doing in the game (with alignments), is to enter Lower Martens Bluff through the Mine Tunnels route.

If you have found the way to Rynjin through the swamp, go that direction, but keep on the road (go past the huts) ... that will take you to the mine tunnels entrance (otherwise known as "Monster Alley").

Thanks for the help. I got crazy and tried to run past the T'Rang in LMB guarding the one passageway. He didn't pursue and I don't think they're pissed off either. Did most of LMB, couldn't get into 2 other doors with guards down there and one door off the 5 door pentagonal room...I'm guessing I'll figure those out later in the game. I tried to fix the teleporter with red/yellow wires, but couldn't get the right angle or something. I moved on, found the idol and have someone missing now.

My plan is to go after Crock (via swamp or via mines, haven't decided yet). None of my guys have portal spells yet (not leveled up enough), and that is killing me on future plans. I'd love to drop a portal here, then move on to Trynton to meet Shaman, head to Arnika with Mook alliance letter, then head back to Umpani BC to get my level 3 clearance..........of course, I have a feeling if I plan too far ahead, the game will change my plans.

I'm not a gamer and I bought this game with a gift card someone gave me with thoughts back to catholic middle school sneaking games of D&D under the noses of the nuns. I've really enjoyed it along with the quests.

Don't worry. You will do everything in the right order on your 3rd run through the game. For your 4th try, try to do as much out of order as you can ...

I got into the shaman on the 6th bow using the Idol. I tell the shamen the words, but his reply essentially tells me I'm the wrong person, and he won't talk to me. Am I missing something else?

It doesn't matter how I type it in, and I've checked the spelling about 20 times. Every time I talk to Das, he replies with "Then I am of no use to you. There is only one whose messenger I wait for."

I know this is an important piece of the game, and I'm getting beyond frustrated at this point.

If all else fails you can kill him for what he shoudl normally give you ...
