"No Buffs make it tough"

Posted by sealight4 on Dec-15-02 at 11:55 AM

Hello every one!I hsve lvl 10 -12 ranger, alchemist, bard, Gadgeter, monk, fighter(liz). I have no buff spells yet and am heading to tryton aftr a long stay in Arnika. tons of IFI for the cemetary. My Monk may have passed up a buf spell last lvl up but I took the portal spell instead. My questions, will the alchemist speed up the potion making? Currently He's not msaking much, what should I work on to increase his spell building? He's already 108 Alchemy. Relying on potions is different but what buffs are available For my team. On the plus side I gave bloodlust to the Bard, stuck her in the front, works well mostly. Her music is at 94 so I don't think she needs any more music points do I? I kknow about the spread sheet but forgive my laziness. And can the game be beat with no buffs? 27 Reseurecion spells thrown already? I have a very different team this time, alot more work. No Missle shield and Armor buffs hurt alot, can't wait for the spell casters, not. :x Thanks

Your monk should be getting close to being able to cast the Eye For an Eye spell.Have your alchemist start merging items to make better potions (it's also a good way to raise cash by selling the excess ones). Go to the Umpani camp and pickpocket the Soul Sax from the Umpani bard. Your bard should eventually get the Mandolin of Magus (casts Magic Screen) and your gadgeteer will be able to make items that cast Armorplate and Superman. I think alchemist get Element Shield, so the only protections that you wont be able to do with your characters is Missile Shield and Enchanted Blade. Once you get the Dulcimer of Mending (Heal All) and the Rennonsionce (?) Lute (Restoration) your bard will be able to do all the healing you need. Good luck.

Both your Bard and Gadgie will find instruments/gadgets for buff spells as well. Gadgie can make a "forcefield generator" that casts Armor Plate and the Bard will find the "Mandolin of Magis(spelling?) that casts Magic Screen.

Also, both will find/create something that casts the Heall All spell.

There are a few sites out there that have instrument/gadget lists.

I consider both the Bard and Gadgeteer to be hybrid characters, like Lord,Samurai, etc, even though they level up like the other non-magic classes.
