I obtained the idol, and did the following:

1) I tried to talk to shaman das.. he doesnt respond. And the mouth cursor gets small then big again
2) I tried putting the idol in that weird boar-head-like thing in the building with the large rhombus shaped emblem (Trynie sanctuary i think the sign says), then trying to talk to him. Same result.

Is this a bug, or am i missing something fundamental? If so, it sounds like I have to either not play anymore or start from scratch Consequently, does the patch fix many of these things? Too bad you can only get it after registering on fileplanet.

I don't know who you are trying to talk to, if you haven't placed the idol yet. Once you place the idol in the right spot (a 2-tier idol like object in front of the shaman's door), you should be able to open the door and go talk to him.

I dont know what pedestal you are talking about -- where exactly is the shamans door? Do you mean the 6th bouth or whatever, or something else, because I dont see anything like that in the 6th bough.
