"Z'ant in a bad mood"

If I remember correclty i did first the t'rang quests up to one in which you need to find the black ship's coordinates... So when in Rome ( Bayjin, black box bla bla ) I decided to enlist in the IUF, did all the quests but the last one, went to Arnika, discovered the coordinates then told z'ant. he gave the last mission which i'm not going to accomplish in order not to hostile the Umpani, so everyone can become friends later on. It says on my journal: Find T'rang Spy, (Kill the Umpani), (Kill T'rang) - last missions from both factions. My problem is when I talk to z'ant he gets all angry saying I'm an Umpani spy and all the t'rang turn on me! Should I had done the umpani quests first then the t'rang ones? or is this normal? ( I paid He Li not to tell ) Can everyone still be friends with Rodan and Drazic showing up at z'ant's?

(or maybe it is just broken)

A lot of people seem to have this experience: play both sides, pay off He'Li, and Z'ant still finds out. I don't know what the answer is ...

I believe the answer might have been to off the T'rang spy in the Umpani camp. Don't know if it is too late to do that or not?

I suppose if you do betray that confidence and give him over to the Umpani, that may make Z'ant a little ticked at you.

My team killed him (the spy) first, then betrayed him to stay in the good graces of the Umpani. No spy left alive to tell Z'Ant anything. Z'Ant knew nothing and was happy to see my team.

I suggest you continue to ignore both final quests and go on to trying to achieve peace and an alliance between the two factions (that is if they are both still friendly with you?).

Do you have a save before you talk to Z'ant and he becomes hostile? I think if you just don't talk to him until you complete the alliance quest that you'll be fine.

they're friendly untill I talk to z'ant. I haven't turned in the umpani spy yet. Anyway, I got tired of my present party ( felpurr SAM, felpurr SAM, faerie Ninja, elf Bishop) it was getting waaay too easy with light sword, fang, cane of corpus... so I decided to start over with a two person party ( faerie Ninja and Elf Bishop )

Just walk up and hand him the alliance offer (or whatever the Umpani give you for the peace treaty) ... that may work.

The 1st time I played thru the game I got the T'rang-Umpani alliance. The next time I couldn't. I think the trick is to join the T'rang first, then the Umpani, and then pay off He'li. DON'T do any of the missions untill you've paid off He'li and I think you can get the alliance. I still haven't found the light sword, but I'm thinking of having an all cursed party (ever notice how missile weapons are never cursed?). Bloodlust(?), CoC, Staff of Doom, Divine Chainmail, etc. Talk about getting up in a person's grill...

I have alway joined the Umpani first. Most of the time I have had no problem with Z'Ant, but a couple of time I did. It could be the idea of paying He'li before you do any other quests.
