"High-XP Monsters"

I've gotten myself into a bit of a jam with my bard--I turned her into an alchemist so as to have another person to cast the portal spell, but she's 28th level or so and the levels are coming VERY slowly. I want to change her back but it'd be useless to do before she at least gets the spell I want from her.

Can anyone recommend a place to find random encounters that yield a lot of XP? All the fights I'm having are giving maybe 100,000 XP apiece, and getting 12 million that way is s...l...o...w.

Ascension Peak is the place.

You could try unequiping a few characters and allow them to die in battle. Do not resurrect for a while, that way the remaining members get a higher experience point share.

Also, find a nice deep and cozy corner to sleep in. This might work a little better with all party members healthy of course. Fight and sleep. I did this my first time through because I wanted to see what a couple of the high level spells were like before I completed the game and this seemed the only way to quickly get the points. I actually wish that the low level areas gave higher level monsters instead of the levels being capped - imagine fighting level 25-30 ants or wasps in the swamp and hitting them with power 7 falling stars!

You can also fight in the northern wilderness against Djinnis, sulferous scortchers, Rapax (best place is Rapax Castle), Acid Wings.... or you can just fly by Aesension Peak and kick some butt there to...

yes, you've discoverd why most people don't like to class change in Wiz8. the XP requirement is based on current class and total level.
a level 25 bard turned alchemist will have to earn the same amount of XP to level up, as if you started her as an alchemist.
if you change classes, do it early. level 5-10. that for easier level ups for the second class, and the chance to learn all spells in the spellbook.

You are only as brave as the challenges you take on
