Were the gates left open? Or did he somehow "warp" out while you were away?

No the gates were closed all I did was walk up to his cage and he wasent there then he came runing at me from behind so I took off and when I came back His gates were still closed but they were not locked weird but I think its just a bug becouse I hid in the faeries cage becouse some spiders were coming then I saw one walk right through the door when it was closed. The first game I played had no bugs that i could notice but the second was fill of them. I noticed one of them when I went to get FANG the best sword in the game and there was no one protecting it no death lords only the queen and some spell casters.

Some Rapax walked through the ceiling/door near the lava frogs.I have released Bobo from his cage then closed the doors after he returned, but I've never seen him run free without my help.
Are these bugs or just random events they throw in for excitement ?

... he would take the bait. I think of all the times I have played there was maybe one time he took the drugged meat. The rest of the times (like 6 or 7 times) I just drop the stuff (up to 3 pieces) and he just trods around his cage ... until I walk in and whack him. Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

um I wasent really talking abou the druged mest Im talking about some how he got out of the cage when I diddent open it I just walked up to his cage and he came running at me from the building here you get the ZUZU leaves so I took off but when I returned the lock was still locked and he was still not in his cage so he must of walked through the door. Just put the druged meat in his food bin from outside the cage under (The Do not feed the hogar) sign and he will fall asleep then open the door and get the stuff and get out unless you want to kill him

That is what everyone says ... doesn't (except for the one time, that had to be a fluke) work for me. Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

I agree Llevram, i think it has only worked 2 time for me, out of at least 20 tries. and one time it did, bobo woke up before i could get out of the cage again!!!

I just made the round trip up the tree, down the rope/cable, talked to Gari (after killing the breeders ... the goons afterward always give me more trouble) and back up to Bobo's cage .... there sits the drugged meat, still in his trough ...I think he should have been named "Morris", not "Bobo"

You don't have to whack Bobo (like you didn't have to whack Sparkle YOU BIG MEANIE). A simple 12 step process allows you to loot his cage cruelty-free.0) save game
1) Stand in front of the cage door on the left side
2) pick the lock
3) as the door swings open slide left, giving Bobo lots of room to run out. Initiate combat.
4) have everyone cast blinding flash spells or powder
5) if Bobo is not blinded, reload and go to 1)
6) wait for Bobo to run away
7) loot his cage - quickly
8) go to the fairy cage and wait inside
9) when combat ends, lock the fairy cage door and take a nap
10) keep napping until Bobo returns to his cage
11) save game
12) carefully sneak over and carefully close his cage door

But for that to work, you have to kill the sprites! Face it, this isn't a game for pacifists *laugh*
Speaking of hogars, what is the deal with Rex, anyway? He's friendly, but you can't talk to him or anything. I tried to give him the extra piece of rotten meat from my inventory but he wasn't interested.

Going back to Bobo out of his cage, this happened to me in the last game. I was outside his cage (door was locked) and had a trynnie patrol next to me when we were attacked by three spiders. After the battle I noticed that one of the trynnies was in Bobo's cage and the door was open. Bobo then attacked my party. I had to kill him which I was reluctant to do as there's something about Hogars that I like.

Yes, roasted over an open fire, they're delicious!!Bobo is a pushover, battering hogars are tougher, about 450 hps.
But, brute hogars are really tough, about 600 hps. try one of those at level 8!!! Then tell me you like hogars.
