"Vi Domina and ending"

Posted by smb (Guest) on Jul-30-02 at 12:16 PM
The first time I played the game, I dropped Vi Domina long before the end -- she disappeared after I picked up the CM, anyway. Does having her on Ascension Peak and the Cosmic Circle change anything about the ending? I'm going through again, and this time am sticking with her, although there are places I'm sure she won't go.

Another question, maybe related to Vi: when I went to the Cosmic Circle, I saw an unidentified green dot on my radar screen. It wasn't Bela, Aletheides, or the Dark Savant, they were all ahead of me. This dot was off to my left as I entered, but I couldn't see anyone. Then, during the confrontation over the Cosmic Forge, the green dot suddenly reappeared behind the Dark Savant, just as he was talking about Vi. No one surfaced, however. So I wondered if it was Vi wandering around? Does anyone know, or is this just something weird?

Vi will have a few words to say at the ascension but that's all.
Take the android to the ascension as well.

When you leave Vi, she will reappear at He'li 's place. You should have the recent patch though.

I do have the latest version. Do I need a patch too? I only wondered how to keep Vi throughout the game, since it did seem that she vanished when I got the Chaos Moliri -- I assumed that was the cause. If I dismiss her before I go somewhere she won't go, will she disappear?

I think the theory about Phoonzang being the green dot on Ascension Peak must be right.

There is a bug that makes her vanish from the game. It is either
a) drop two NPC's in the same spot
or
b) drop her too close to an NPC.
I managed to do it one time and haven't felt like exploring the exact cause. When I drop her, I always drop her upstairs at HeLi's or on Braffit's front porch, then check to see if she pops up in front of HeLi, then save game. There are 3 ways to get her into unpopular areas.

As for the unidentified green dot, there was speculation several months ago that the game programmers needed to stash an NPC somewhere before they made their appearance. I have never heard any other explanation for the dot.

I have an explanation As you know at the end you discover who the DS was, what the programmers did was allow for the coming into actually of this charactor even though only one of the endings allows him to come into being, Laziness, just like the use of thw same template for all three retro dungeons, Anyway that 's my guess

The disappearing bug is more elusive than I thought. I dropped RFS-81 and Urq in HeLi's bar a few seconds apart. Both appeared. I walked upstairs and then back. Urq was gone, RFS was standing at the bar drowning his sorrows. I walked over to the Mook Embassy and Urq was there, staring at an empty lab bench.

When you drop a character, try to confirm their safe arrival home before you save game.
