"Hey Llevram ..how about a game poll"

Posted by Jonno (Guest) on Jul-26-02 at 03:08 PM
Maybe Llevram could set up an internet poll to tally how many people would definately purchase, probbaly purchase, maybe purchase etc a Wiz 9.

If the results are high enough and with reasonable integrity then it might prompt the developers to investigate a feasability study of their own of a Wiz 9 , Wiz 10 etc.

They don't need a poll ... they know what sales are from Wiz 8 (probably not enough to turn a profit on the cost of it, or not enough a profit to make it "profitable"). And if they (Sir-tech) wanted to, they could do such a thing.

The sales of Wiz 8 would be a guide only - it is by no means an absolute measure. There is no rule of marketing stating that the first version of a new game series (lets face it Wiz 8 is so different in interface and playability to previous Wizardry games that it is in many ways a new game)has to be the highest seller in the series.

There is no way Wiz 9 is going to happen if we the players do not show any support for it.

A pole on this forum would be just a litmus test and hopefully a teaser to Sir-tech (or others if Sir-Tech haven't got the vision or marketing grunt to pull it off)to show that there is a demand.

There was a poll at gamespot a couple of weeks ago about which RPG people wanted an add-on for. Wiz 8 only got 3% of the vote. I'm afraid that says it all and no poll on a fan site is going to persuade Sir-tech to start developing wiz 9 at the moment.

3% may be enough.

Think how many PC game players there are in the world.
