U can enter there from that underwater "room" with Nessi. There was only 3 ways in/out. Try all 3, for I can't recall the location of the "right" passageway.

hell, i encountered nessi... this guy is tough. my people are around lvl 16 and i have NO CHANCE. i mean it, no chance. move in with enchanted blade/armorplate/magic screen and cast soul shield as soon as possible. when did you folks kill this monster or is there no need to? i come from bayjin and will now move to the ukpyr ... erm... mt gigas caves.

I killed Nessie at about level 12/13. Use Superman potions on your guys. Thats what I did. & I killed it 4 or 5 times & finally got that sword. stupid chests.

You have to get in on Nessie and I mean quickly. Do not attempt to fire some spells from a distance. As soon as you are engaged, get up on top of her, otherwise, she will cast Stone Skin and make it 10x harder to hit her.
It is all about luck really. My level 16 android Mond knocked her unconscious first blow and I chopped her down quickly.
Superman cast on your front line fighters is also a great idea, along with haste.

You can kill Nessie pretty quickly. You must sneak up on him... if you're feeling tricky, you can get him to buff up and then run away... the buffs will run out when you run out of range and combat stops. Then return and he'll have less mana.At close range, buff up your fighters with superman, cast elemental shield and summon a bunch of elementals. It's not a very worthwhile fight, though. You get about 200,000 exp each and can open a chest in a small cave behind Nessie. Real lame-ass stuff, though. I got 7 death stars, 3 skeleton powders and a Cure Lt. Cond. potion. Sheesh.

Hey guys, how did you stop from drowning? Tons of stamina potions?

You go under ... you need to find things to bring along some air.
(they are nearby - the loading scene of bayjin shallows gives a clue). Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

That is, is that the only location where you can find truly high end stuff (excalibur, light sword, muramasa blade)?I killed Nessie after a few tries without too much trouble, but I saved immediately afterwards (I had no desire to play the reload game in hopes of better treasure, I consider it cheesy, like pickpocketing until you succeed).
Not surprisingly I got crap in the chest. So are there other places where I can get good stuff, or have I just screwed myself?

I forget where I saw or heard this in the game, but something to the effect of "travellers on dominus can take refuge in the many caves" ... ya, right safe after you dispatch the resident denizen. One in northern wilderness, mountain wilderness and wilderness clearing.
As for nessie, I think she is like a weak gorror (and thus, less chance for awesome treasure). Ferro makes good stuff and sells awesome stuff as you progress in the game.

Search the water caves, you just might find a pleasant surprise.

Search the waters after you complete the quest to get the Sgt. out of Bayjin.

Hopefully I'll find something nice this time, a muramasa blade or excalibur would be pleasant.
