I was in the trynton boughs one time and i saw a blip on my radar,i was almost dead so i avoided it.I still saw it though(went wrong way)it was a huge manta ray - dragon looking thing!Was just wondering if anyone else saw this "beast" and if they knew any details thanks

It is a giant bat(and a nasty one) and is quite common in Trynton.I have never been attacked by it.

I was attacked by one, once. The battle wasn't too hard, but it was indeed BIG. Is there any special point to them? one of the lost episodes... or just a big monster?

I've seen this Giant Bat in Trynton with every party( 4 parties so far). It NEVER attacked though. One time it was close enough for my bow/slingers to target it but it ran away during the first round. In this current game I hit it with a Fireball to force it into attacking me. The fight was a bit tough but fun. Didn't give much experience though.
I suspect this was part of an additional Trynton quest that was never fleshed out. Poor Trynnies. Breeder Ratts, the Rapax, the stigma associated with helping Marten, and to top it all off, a Giant Bat who steals their babies( just an idea for the unfinished Giant Bat quest)

What I was saying is: I fought a giant bat and wanted to know if there's more to them than being giant (e.g. storywise)

The replies only counts towads the original message (not replies to replies, ad naseum).
And it looks like the the post by Spence, above your reply (that I am replying to) answered your inital question ... it is just a giant bat, no other signifigance .... maybe some planned quest that never got flushed out.

i know it will attack and it can drain HPs. be careful.
