Or maybe the mountain wilderness ... I think they show up there more often (don't recall seeing them in Bayjin).

Well I never saw 'plumed serpents' in the Mountain Wilderness,
only 'acid serpents' & 'brine serpents' (I'm not sure about the name of the last one, my brain has gone limp over the past few weeks),

Bayjin & Ascension Peak are the most likely to generate 'plumed serpents', IMHO.

Hail,
Arakain.

Best place I ever found for Plumed Serpent Feathers earlier in the game than Bayjin or AP was in the retro dungeon in the Mtn. Wilderness. There's a group of at least 3 of them in one of the rooms there and every one of them has dropped feathers for me in all three of my runs through the game.

Another place to try that is even earlier in the game is in the Mine Tunnels -- if you take the mine cart to one of the wrong paths (i.e. not to Marten's Bluff) you will find two of them as well as some minor goodies. I don't recall for sure which wrong path it was but I think it was the one with the exit to the west. If you don't know what I'm talking about, there are only four paths total so it's not like you shouldn't be able to figure it out.

I found *plummed serpents* in the wilderness cleraing off the south east wilderness that is where I finally got my feathers for it.
