i have every thing i need to enter ascention peak and am trying to use the entrance in the northwest wilderness, by bela, but it exits to the desktop every time. i got lazy on rapax castle and didn't finish it but have read about a portal from there to the peak. is that the only way you're suppose to get in?
i have all the patches and am trying to finish the game
but not sure if i want to waste my time on the castle just to find that entrance does the same thing

Do you have them installed properly? i.e. do you see version 1.2.4 when you play? If not, that is the problem.

Either entrance should not matter, but (you will find this out sooner or later), you will have to do the castle to enter AP.

i have version 1.2.4 and patch.001, but no luck

I had the same problem, but the patch fixed it.
Now if I could only get back my missing RPC's...
