There is a wooden wall behind the counter at the Supply post that turns into a hand when you put the pointer over it. Is there a way to open this door?

as with most of the puzzles, the key to solving it is not far away. Highlight for where to get it: "Sgt Kunar, at the supply desk"

Hmmm, I already caused that element to be "eliminated." Am I out of luck?

You might check all your inventory, esp. for unidentifed keys.

I think you have to pick that key from Kunar or kill him. I got it once doing the latter. When I turned him in during another game, I did not get the key.

If you pick Kunar's pocket and open the supply door while
he is still on duty does he sound the alarm or is he as
indifferent as all the other NPCs in the game? Can I expect
to find anything more than musket balls and flack jacket?

I PP Kunar until there was nothing left to steal, but no key. What eles can I do?

Keep trying, it's there. The supply room is a huge
disappointment, however...

he will give you the key, if you give him the "password". This is a phrase you will get as one of the T'rang quests.
