I have completed the initiation, got the three items, visited al-sedexus in the lower room, freed the prisoner. I dressed one of my characters in the three items and placed the the dark nectar on the large structure in the largest of the temple rooms (looks like a throne chair or an altar). The nectar disappears when placed on the large back, but al-sedexus does not appear. What am I missing?

Are you in the right room? The alter has empty bottles on it and a stack of them on shelf (empty) right in front of the alter. I suspect you are not in the alter room (behind a locked door (use the initiate badge to open it)).

That was it! The actual difficulty was that when I tried the initiate's badge as a key on the decoration, I was at an angle and it didn't work. When I finally tried it facing straight on, it worked fine.
