After you first talk to al-adryan, and you decide to become a templar, you go and talk to sudran nearby, and tell him adryan sent you. He opens the door. Just in that door, on a pillar, is the badge.

My question is, where is the lock that this badge opens? "Beyond and below" (Al-adryan says this) is a bit cryptic for me, and seems to be either the Rapax kitchen, or the big throne room. Where do I pour the dark nectar?

You walk beyond the entrance to where you speak to Al-adryian, use the initiates badge, then down to the dark altar.
