I'm heading off to find a ship out on the Island for the T'rang. My Samurai has bloodlust and a wakasashi but isn't really pulling his weight too well.
Where do I find ankh of might or some other goodies I can give him to increase his ST?
When/Where might I find a better sword for him?

The big guy in the Mt. Wilderness had a few choice items (wandered in there for the heck of it) - if I keep heading back to him does he get more goodies (expesive goodies to be sure)?

My Gadget guy is FINALLY pulling his weight at level 13 with all his goodies. Funny how that simple Lava lamp can pull one's fat out of the fire in a pinch!

If you are lucky on the Island in a chest you will find the BEST sword in the game. The LIGHT SWORD is the primo sword no other comes close. Second best are the Ivory sword (custom by Ferro) and the Muramasa blade (found in Ferro's armory). Ferro also has some primo armor and weapons. Expensive yes but well woth the price.

Isn't the light sword is a random item? I don't think there is a place where you can find it every time (like diamond eyes in the wilderness cave).

Is there a list around that tells what weapons are available where? Which wilderness is diamond eyes in - Mountain or NW?

Guess I need to look up ferro after my island adventure and playing Dodge Nessie.

I could get lucky and crit kill nessie... worth a try I suppose.

If you want to find the light sword you have to save BEFORE entering Bayjin Shallows. It's dropped by the buccaneer ghosts as a random item, according to what I've read here. Also, I think I found the Muramasa Blade at the Rapax away camp in a chest. I belive Ferro has the bushido blade. There are a couple of strength enhancing items but they are random, can't recall where I got mine at. Sorry.

You can also find the Ankh sp? of speed on crock +10 speed, do you have a bard, or use haste scrolls/spells?

When hasted,(Rousing Drums)at minimum see 4hits with a max of 8 on a single hit, and most of the time out damages everyone.

You don't need to save before entering Bayjin Shallows to get the light sword. The chests are all set when you enter an area, but the light sword is a random item that can be found in the bags dropped (randomly!) by the bucanneer ghosts (second fight in the shallows if coming in from the Bayjin side) The purpose behind saving before entering is that you can go back and try again if the chests in the shallows (Davy Jones' locker especially) don't have good items. DJ's locker sometimes has the Excalibur (or so I am led to believe) but the LS can be gotten just by saving before fighting the bucanneers, and reloading if they don't drop it. They drop all sorts of interesting items.
e.g. Light Sword, Maenad's Lance, Vaporizers, Canned Elementals.
You may take many reloads to get the LS, but some people have apparently found upto 4 at a time. Fang is good too, for a single handed primary weapon.

Excellent and thanks! Still wondering when the strength enhancing items may start to show up but as I'm getting toward the end of the entire game it is likely soon.
I'm working for the T'rang and will be heading underwater from Bejin (the island - whatever it's called). The Trinnies are hostile toward me and turn the Umpani that way as soon as Sparkle sees me so I'll likely end up on an umpani killing spree - do they have some goodies?

If I can just beef up the Samurai a bit more I'll be set.

Go to the Rattkin tree and kill some rats, they usually carry around lots of goodies, including Ankhs and amulets.

question about the loot in davy jone's locker:

i came in from the umpani side, saved right before my fight with nessie, killed her then saved again. went to the locker and it, to my chagrin, had only chain mail shoes and a bottle of Superman in it.

am i gonna have to fight nessie over and over to get something different in that chest?

if not, then how does it work? can i go on and do stuff, then come back and reopen the chest, as long as i go back to my save before i pulled out the 2 peices of junk i got?

i've adjusted myself to the fact that there really is no loot to speak of in wiz8, but sometimes it's just ridiculous.

The contents of DAVY JONES LOCKER are set when you first entered BAYJIN SHARROWS AREA. So You can change the contents of the locker, only when you reload saved files before entered this area.
