"What to do with 230k and CoC?"

Posted by Legende (Guest) on Mar-13-02 at 02:21 AM
What is the purpose of money, sheesh 234k to be exact, is there some uber item I can buy or is money just for show?

BTW for |\/008$ hit the rapax rift talk about a gold mine, kaching. That is if you need money for something.

2. Is the CoC really worth switching my monk to a ninja?

Current party is at Lvl 16-17
Lord(d0rf)
Samurai(human)
Monk(human)
Bard(hobit)
Priest(human)
Mage(elf)

Vi(switched to a ranger)

Ack that should be RFS-81.

Also wanted to add, is it just me or does W8 have a hard-on for bards?

What's the use of doing all this crap if no one makes up a song about your greatness? And what exactly do you mean? Yes, there are a fair few instruments for the bard to use, but gadgeteers also get their fair share of stuff. Wiz 8 has brought the game back to a state where the elite classes aren't the killing machines they were in the previous game. Having never played Bane *shock, horror* I cannot vouch for the game balance in it. Plus, you're not a real RPG if you don't have a bard or other storyteller. You'd get goddamn bored (assuming your characters didn't just sign up for the adventure on a sheet of paper in some seedy tavern somewhere) telling each other the same stupid stories, over and over, when sitting by the campfire. I'd probably kill you myself, just to shut you up, when you tell that story about you, the tavern wench, and that trick she can do with three pebbles and a foot of string, for the four hundredth time. Which reminds me, where did I leave my vinegar coated dagger made of sandpaper....

WTF are you on?

1. Samurias own, only elite that is worse is a Ninja IMHO, I did a total of 8Xhit for 184dmg in one round on a Rapax Berserker. Yet you say elites arn't the killing machines they were in the past bah.

They seem to have less spells yes, compared to the old proving grounds. However they seem to do just fine, and with the bloodlust why have just a fighter when you can have an elite?

2. Have you looked at all the "Bard" specific gear not counting their instruments? I mean everything with the exception of my bards tunic (steelhide vest) is bard specific.

Example current gear, Pucks cap, Mercucio's Blade, Oberon's Greaves, Ariels slippers, Blarneystone Amulet, Valentine necklace.

Also, a bard totally nerfs the need for a lord or valk, and even a fighter. Also they heal better at times then a priest but hey nuff ranting they might nerf them in a new patch jk
Personally I have nothing against them, just to me atleast Sir Tech put more effort into bards then they did to most other classes IMO.

Money, I have all I need and can't get better gear than I have atm, I was just curious if there was some rare item to buy sheesh Trolls.

You'll want a heck of a lot more than 230K when you meet up with Ferro. Some of his uberitems cost over 100k each....and are well worth it. Myself, I never step inside his door with under 500K. And no, I don't edit in the money -- I earn it mixing potions and killing things - AP is a great place to earn money. My first game I spent over 1.5M in Ferro's alone. This (my third) time through I expect to spend at least that much, if not more.

Sorry, just got a little carried away.
Money: Spend it. Buy stuff that inflicts pain on your enemies or prevents them from doing it to you. Or give it all to Lord Braffit and get him to make a statue of you or something.
Coc: If your monk has a high wand and dagger skill, and you don't need him for spells or such, go ahead. The Coc is a nasty piece of work and just remember 'The pointy end goes into the other man'. That is all.

All he will be able to do with the CoC is sell it. The CoC is both race (fairy) and profession (ninja) specific. Since he ain't got no steenkin' fairy (or even a sweet smelling one all the Coc is to him is a source of some extra gold

If it moves kill it, if it doesn't, prod it and shoot it anyway."

why not swap to ninja, equip it, then wait another level to switch back?
granted you should wait until he can do that without much more XP needed, so he could quickly change back to Monk.
unless my theory on cursed weapons isn't true)

Because his monk is human, not fairy...

There are several irems that are race and/or profession limited. That is why 'right' clicking on it is important it not only gives oblect srar but also what races can use it. faries are excluded from using most armot and weapons. (although Antone makes a custom piece for fairies.
