Way back in the game, I killed the Mook in Arnika and now they hate me. I now need to give General Yamir's letter to them to complete the Umpani missions. Can I still do this or do I have to give up working for the Umpani?

Since you killed the Mook I will assume that that while worhing for the T'rang you got the CM. Just show ir to the general and/or Sgt Balbrek and that should complete that mission for you. If it doesn't all you have lost is some quest EXP points. You can still work for them and do future quests (alliance ,glumph, etc)
